I was diagnosed with Myltiple Myeloma June, 2008. I have 2-tumors in left parietal of skull. I went through all the test plus CTS, MRI, Bone Marrow, Blood, Kidney and a lot of lab test. The MRI showed the two tumors which my family doctor found in 2004 and did MRI but, the radiology reports seem to say don't worry so my doctor waited and then in 2008 I got to point I was unable to do much of anything and head hurt so much of the time. He decided to send me on to the oncologist after he did the a CT and lab and Kidney test and my Mprotein was high. Then the oncologist imediately

did an MRI on my head and full body bone scan and decided I needed radiation because the tumor was into the brain and he had radiation done immediately for 5 days. Since then I had done pretty good except for the problem with nearly blacking out if I lay down on left side or right side now it just seems to happen if I move my head wrong and can't seem to figure out what is causing it. So I really don't know where I am at right now. I would like to know more about how to know what is Multiple Myeloma problems and what to experience with them. I also have 3 hemangiomas on my liver so doctor seems not to worry at this time to much.

Just trying to learn somethings maybe I need to look for. Just talk to me about it. I am a young 68 and don't like not feeling like I need to. I am a very active person.

Hi Granny68,

In our opinion, having radiation treatment alone is not enough. You also need systemic treatment (treatment that reaches the cancer cells throughout the body by traveling through the bloodstream) to adequately address the myeloma.

We would recommend that you see a neurologist about the blacking out spells you are having.

You can find out more information about myeloma and our approach to treating this type of cancer at our website:

Please let us know if you have further questions or we can help in any other way.

Take care,
