I was hospitalized a few weeks back and the they acctually applied for state benefits for me in order to get the hospital bill paid. I just now got the the application for state assistance and the medical plan. I am getting the revlimed for free, my Doctors office applied for that and there are other meds that the drug companies will give for free if you are unemployed/uninsured which I am. I lost my job last July, and actually had to give um my unemployment to get these medical benefits for free as I was making too much on unemployment .... Its a very odd triangle.
I actually just got the state Medicade in PA but not sure how far that will carry me. But my Dr. told me there is alot they can do for the uninsured, you just have to ask.
